The Nitro Tournaments Rods – Ultrabream Finesse is a light tackle junkies must have! This incredibly light, yet robust graphite stick, rating at a subtle 1-2 kilograms is still capable of turning the head’s of some extremely powerful piscatorial targets and even more importantly the fisherman that witness it in action.
The proof is in the pudding
I recently had the pleasure of showing off this rod’s strength and durability to a few ‘Ultrabream Virgins’ on a recent trip to Windamere Dam (NSW). I will never forget the look of shock and awe on their faces as the finesse powerhouse persuaded multiple monsterous Golden Perch (some well in excess of five kilograms) from their underwater hunting grounds to the boat. With this rod, I did it as quickly and easily as anyone equipped with tackle set up to target large Murray Cod or Barramundi could.
Not only were they shocked at the power of the rod and it’s subtle taper, but also the sensitivity of the blank. I was detecting even the smallest bites, when their heavier counterparts were letting them down. It wasn’t long before I had them begging for a chance to fire off a cast and see for themselves what I had been raving about before the trip. Sure enough the Ultrabream Finesse now holds a place in their tackle inventory too.
The verdict
In my opinion this rod is perfectly capable of being used on a wide range of finesse species in and out of Australia including; Bream, Flathead, Whiting, Trout, Redfin, Golden Perch, Silver Perch, Australian Bass and many more.
I have also come to the conclusion that this rod is virtually indestructible, unless of-course you have an accident with a tree and a very large and angry Golden Perch, you can feel confident knowing that it will more than hold its own weight!
It’s sleek design is very easy on the eyes and it is a two piece rod allowing for easy travel. An all round win in my opinion and I am sure anyone who grabs one will feel the same!
